TIM CARTER JOINS
FIREFLY MAGIC® TEAM IN 2009
Firefly Magic® Firefly Lights welcomes
Tim Carter, inventor and patent holder of Disney
like artificial 'flying" fireflies.
 Tim
Carter, noted in the special effects arena for
his unique and patented design of simulated moving
fireflies, has joined the Firefly Magic® Firefly
Lights team. Tim developed his unique moving firefly
concept in the 1980's after having been familiar
with the original fireflies at the Pirates of the
Caribbean attraction since it opened in 1966.
Upon the completion of his development efforts,
Tim was invited to present his concept directly
to the Walt Disney Imagineering team in Glendale,
California. Subsequently he applied for, and received
a U.S. patent for the design.
Recently, Tim had the opportunity to evaluate
the newest and superbly accurate recreation of
Mother Nature’s real fireflies, Firefly Magic® Firefly
Lights.
 Invented by Stephen Taylor, Firefly Magic® ‘Fireflies’ incorporate
high technology micro processing and light emitting
diodes to exactly mimic the flashing, flickering,
and fading of real fireflies. So unique are these
new ‘Fireflies’ that Taylor holds two
patents on them, one for the method in which they
recreate the look of real fireflies, and another
for the uniquely designed ‘Firefly LED Light’.
Following Tim Carter’s evaluation of the
new electronic ‘Fireflies’, he heartily
agreed to enter into a multi-year endorsement agreement
with Sigma Two Group LLC, manufacturer and distributor
of the Firefly Magic® Firefly Lights product
line.
Enthused with what he saw, Tim explained, “These
new Firefly Magic® electronic ‘Fireflies’ amazingly
capture the true essence of what we see with real
living fireflies in nature. It's the adventure
of the firefly hunt recreated in a very wonderful
and fun way. I'm impressed. I’m also impressed
with the simplicity and quality of design that
allows virtually anyone to bring the magic of ‘fireflies’ into
their own backyard or garden.”
Although Tim will primarily be involved with the
marketing of the Firefly Magic® ‘Fireflies’,
plans are also in development that may include
collaborative efforts between Tim and Sigma Two
Group LLC engineers to develop new technologies
in the field of artificial fireflies.
Asked what this alliance may mean, Stephen Taylor
responded, “This brings together the two
preeminent inventors in the field of artificial
firefly replication. We’re extremely gratified
that Tim so strongly believes in our Firefly Magic® ‘Firefly’ product
and that he wants to share their unique features
and benefits with the public.”
