ABOUT
US
Stephen Taylor founded the Sigma Two Group
as a part-time consulting and engineering development
firm while working at 3M Company in St.
Paul,
Minnesota
in
1979. After Stephen relocated to California in 1980,
Sigma Two entered the terrestrial satellite communication
field
by designing and installing C and Ku band downlink sites
and systems the United States and Mexico.
During the 1980's and into the 90's, Sigma
Two expanded in software development and low
voltage specialty lighting with unique custom
designs. They were licensed by the State of California
(493574) in 1986.
After relocating to Dallas, Texas, Taylor
lead Sigma Two Group LLC to begin development on a project
that
would
accurately
reproduce
the flashing of Fireflies, also known as Lightning Bugs.
The project's technology design was so novel, unique,
and unusual that patent filings were made,
and subsequently
multiple patents were awarded for both the operational
methodology and the design.
The new product was named Firefly Magic®,
with marketing and sales testing via the Internet. Interest
in the new and innovative product grew after being featured
on HGTV, Animal Planet, DIY Network, Fine
Living Channel, and the National Geographic Channel.
Although
the original designs were for use by Nature Centers,
Zoos, Natural
History Museums, theme parks and otter commercial venues,
it soon became evident that there were many consumers
who also wanted to recreate the look of real fireflies
in their back yards and gardens.
Sigma Two Industries
is introducing it's most advanced and consumer friendly
Firefly Magic® Firefly Lights product,
the Model FMS-14 and FMS-07, with 14 or 7 individual
electronic 'Fireflies''. Both models can operate on either
renewable solar energy using rechargeable batteries,
or for indoor use, by using standard AA alkaline
batteries.
For 2009, Sigma Two will be building a
network of retailers and landscapers across the US who
want to bring Firefly Magic® Firefly Lights
to their customers. With the broad appeal of the amazing
electronic
'Fireflies', Sigma Two has shown that the product
sells well at a variety of retail venues, including:
garden
and
landscape centers, gift stores, museum, discovery, and
zoo shops, water garden pond stores, wedding shops, RV
Centers, novelty, party, and holiday theme stores, pool
and spa centers, and hardware stores.
